The high emission car at its historical peak.

The high Co2 emission car is under threat from the climate change politics. Today the car industry must take into consideration that it is important to develop new production strategies to meet the increased demands for low carbon emission viechles. American and German car industry is mainly based on big, heavy and powerful fuel consuming cars. The Autobahn in Germany allows speed freaks to press the pedal to the metal and reach speeds up to over 200 km/h. Some German cars, like BMW and Mercedes has a limited top speed at 250 km/h.

A paradox is that most of the time you use the car, it is to/from work in the rush traffic. It is really waste of energy to transport your laptop in a 1-2 tons steel box on wheels at 30 km/h.

It is a human right to travel over a hill at 100 km/h? You can compare it with the ridiculus act of riding a horse to get an egg in the hens house. Why all this power and speed?

The car today is not energy effective transport. You must move at least 1 tonn weight to move a human body 50-100 kg. A car need at least 50 hp to move your body, and compared to a Velomobile, you need only 1/4 hp to travel at 50 km/h, or 1 hp to reach 80 km/h.

The car industry is a marriage between steel, rubber and oil industry. In fact, today most of the body parts of a car can be replaced by bio-degradable materials, and light materials that gives more output from smaller engines. It is possible to use non fossile lubricants, and even get energy to power the engine without using any existing power supply, wether it is oil, gas or electric power.

Wrong use of the car

The most common use for the car is small low speed trips. The car is not made for this. Cold engine and small trips in the winter destroyes the engine, and pollutes the air inhte worst possible way. It is better to change the short trips from car use to feet, bicycle, velomobile or bus.

Good bye to vulgarism in power and consumption, a historical epoke is over
